In the 2023-2024 Legislative Session, SCHSPA tracked multiple bills that had the potential to impact the service delivery system.
- SCHSPA supported House Bill 4159 the Tele-Medicine and Tele-Health Modernization Act that was passed and signed into law on March 11, 2024.
- Senate Bill 0858 – Acute Hospital Care at Home. This bill passed and was signed into law on May 20, 2024.
- Senate Bill 0847 – Health Care Loan Forgiveness program. The bill did not pass.
- Senate Bill 1074 – Amending the duties of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). Did not pass.
- House Bill 5183 – Amending the duties of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP). This bill passed and was signed into law on May 21, 2024.
- Senate Bill 0975 – Public Health and Vaccines. Did not pass.
- Senate Bill 0855 – Healthcare Study Committee. Bill did not pass, however was taken up in a Proviso.
- Senate Bill 0423 – Compassionate Care Act (Medical Cannabis). Bill did not pass.
- Senate Bill 0915 – Bill to establish the Executive Office of Health and Policy. (Restructuring). Bill did not pass.
- House Bill 4927 – Bill to establish the Executive Office of Health and Policy. (Restructuring). Bill did not pass.
